Franco Omeich Elected President of the "European Arabic Friendship Association"

The "European-Arab Friendship Association" has announced the election of Franco Abdelkader Omeich as its new president. The association highlighted in a statement that Omeich is "distinguished by his strong diplomatic relations between Europe and the Arab world and is known for his active support of humanitarian initiatives and interfaith dialogue. He also leads the Omeich Foundation, which aims to promote humanitarian projects, sustainable development, and other efforts that enhance the association’s role in these fields."

The statement also noted that "Mohammed Al-Adaila has been elected as the head of international and Arab relations for the association. Al-Adaila is the president of the Arab Broadcasting Union, an organization closely affiliated with the Arab League, reflecting his extensive experience in the media and diplomatic fields."

In a move to strengthen media and communication, the association appointed Dr. Akram Khuzam as its media coordinator. Khuzam is a well-known media figure in the Arab world, having served as the director of Al Jazeera’s Arabic channel office in Moscow and worked as a correspondent for the network. After Al Jazeera, he supervised Russia Today and later moved on to work with Al Hurra and Al Ghad channels, bringing vast expertise in media to the association.

The association concluded its statement by emphasizing its aim to enhance cultural and diplomatic relations between European and Arab nations and to forge strategic partnerships with cultural institutions and leading organizations in the media, intellectual, and cultural fields. It seeks to promote the values of social communication, tolerance, and mutual understanding, contributing to building bridges of cooperation and understanding between different cultures and spreading peace while reducing the causes of war."
